Pothole Repairs across Ontario

Cold-patch cones, hot-mix infills, crack sealing and full depth reclamation, matched to the actual cause of the failure.

Overview

Why this service matters, and how we approach it.

Potholes don't happen because of "bad asphalt". They happen because water got under the surface, froze, expanded, and blew out the top layer. So a permanent repair has to address drainage, base, and surface, not just throw cold-patch into the hole.

We offer three repair tiers depending on the severity: crack sealing (before holes form), hot-mix infill (for isolated holes with sound base), and full-depth saw-cut and repair (for failed base).

What's included

How we approach every pothole repairs project.

Saw-cut, square edges

We saw-cut to square edges, not the lazy "throw it in a round hole" cold patch.

Hot-mix, not cold-patch

Permanent repair uses hot-laid HL3 or HL4 asphalt, not the cold bagged stuff.

Tack coat & compaction

Tack coat bonds new to old; plate compactor or roller gives proper density.

Crack sealing

Hot rubberised sealer prevents small cracks becoming potholes, cheapest prevention there is.

Our process

Four steps from quote to sign-off.

01

Assess

Check for base failure (sponginess around the hole), determines repair depth.

02

Saw-cut

Cut square edges to sound asphalt, excavate failed material.

03

Rebuild base (if needed)

Replace and compact granular base where original has failed.

04

Tack & fill

Tack coat on vertical faces, hot-mix infill in two lifts if deep, compact.

Cold patch vs. hot-mix?
Cold patch is emergency-only, useful for getting through winter until spring repairs. Hot-mix is the only permanent repair.
How fast can you come out?
For safety-critical potholes (parking lots, private roads with public access) typically same or next day. For residential driveways, within a week.
Is crack sealing worth it?
Yes, dramatically. Sealing cracks when 3 to 6mm wide prevents them becoming the holes you are paying to repair two winters later.
Can you repair potholes in freezing weather?
Emergency cold-patch repairs yes, any time of year. Permanent hot-mix repair needs surface temperatures above 5°C.
Do you offer annual maintenance contracts?
Yes. For property managers, strata and commercial clients we offer annual or bi-annual contracts covering inspection, crack sealing, pothole patching and line re-painting.
