Driveways & Seal Coating across Ontario

Hot-laid asphalt driveways, extensions and interlocking paver installs, plus the seal coating that keeps them looking new.

Overview

Why this service matters, and how we approach it.

A residential asphalt driveway is the most common driveway job we do, and the one most often done badly. Cheap operators skim a thin layer of asphalt over insufficient base, it cracks within two winters, and they're never reachable for the repair.

We do it properly. 200mm compacted granular base, 75mm hot-laid asphalt in two lifts, edge-compacted, with neat transitions to the road and garage. Plus seal coating every 3 to 4 years to block UV and water damage.

How long before I can drive on my new driveway?
Light traffic after 48 hours, heavy traffic (trailers, motorhomes) after 10 to 14 days.
How often should I seal coat?
First seal coat 12 months after installation, then every 3 to 4 years. Not annually, too much seal coating builds up a brittle surface that cracks.
What does a driveway cost?
A typical 2-car residential asphalt driveway (500 sq ft) runs $4,500 to $7,500 depending on access and base condition.
Can you extend or widen my existing driveway?
Yes. We saw-cut the existing edge, excavate and compact the new base area, then pave the extension and bond the joint with tack coat.
Asphalt or interlocking pavers, which is better?
Asphalt is cheaper up front (roughly 1/3 the cost), quicker to install, and easy to repair. Pavers look better, last 30+ years without resurfacing, and add resale value.
